Pastoral Ministry Courses Descriptions


Intro. to Pastoral Ministry: Level 1
PM 130 - 3 cr.

At the completion of this introductory course the scholars will recognize and understand the three basic components of Pastoral Ministry, which are Evangelism, Teaching, and Protection and Oversight. They will also be required to participate meaningfully in the course discussions boards. 

Intermediate Pastoral Ministry:  Level 2
PM 230 - 3 cr.

This theological course expands seminarians comprehension of the fundamentals of Pastoral Ministry. A. Evangelism. B. Teaching. C. Protection and Oversight. The role of the Pastor as a spiritual leader who guides a congregation with vision and cares for its people is examined from within this framework.

 
Homiletics: 
PM 223 - 2 cr.
This is a praxis course
 

This course will focus on establishing the foundation of biblical sermon preparation, construction, and delivery. Based on an integration of exegetical and theological knowledge and communication skills, this course prepares students to communicate the Word of God by applying Scriptural truths to life and ministry in a topical expository style.

Advanced Pastoral Ministry: Pastoral Resources: Level 3
PM 330 - 3 cr.
This is a praxis course

A study of the role and functions of the daily work of a pastor. Attention is given to the practical nature of the pastoral ministry such as worship, administrative duties, Weddings, funerals, etc.
